“Needless to say, once you vacation at The Pelican, you are hooked.”

“Alma and Joe started their love affair with The Pelican in 1999, as a month vacationer. The next year they stayed 2 months. The following year they stayed 3 months. Then they decided to stay for 6 months. Alma says she is here to stay, this is home. Joe says he loves The Pelican because it is comfortable. He loves the salt air, the beach, and the gatherings at the picnic table.”

Joe and Louise are long-term renters (7 months at a time) and long-time renters (13 years). If you ask them why they have continued to return to The Pelican year after year, they will tell you in unison, “It’s the PEOPLE!”

“I love it here. I love the people and I love the work; especially the pool which I am very proud of. I hope to retire from here” said a long-time employee, Don, who has been here since August 2004.
